Greg’s Chili

Greg and I went back and forth about posting a chili recipe. Greg said…..

Chili is tricky because people are particular on how it tastes, from mild to set your mouth on fire. And then there is the whole beans or no beans debate. For this recipe we use Original Rotel but one could get one of the hotter flavors if desired. One could also switch out the beef with ground venison. Too, I used to add onions but found I really couldn’t tell the difference without them. Garlic could also be added for those who like that added flavor. Here’s how I do mine…..”

gregschiliIn large soup pot brown…..
1 pound sausage
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup Cookshack Chili Seasoning
1 – 10 oz can original Rotel
Drain and rough chop…..
1 – 4 oz can of mushrooms
…..and add to chili. Then add…..
1 – 16 oz can of black beans
1 – 27 oz can of Bush’s Chili Beans
Simmer until beans are tender.

Of course you will want to pair this with Greg’s Cast Iron Cornbread or Green Chili Cheddar Cornbread…..
