Things to do along I-29 IA/NE

This week I traveled up I-29 IA/NE to work a client convention in Sioux City.  My daughter came along with me for this trip and we enjoyed the pool during the downtime of the event.  On our way back down I-29 IA/NE we took a detour through the De Soto National Wildlife Refuge.  Very pretty through there!  On the honor system they do require a small fee as you drive through the entrance.  And of course you can’t drive that stretch of roadway without taking in the beauty of the Loess Hills Scenic Byway.    Another good stop along that stretch of Interstate is the Lewis and Clark State Park in Onawa, IA.  When I was over that way in 2011 it was very wet due to flooding, now in 2012 it is very dry due to drought.  Wouldn’t it be nice if Mother Nature could just make up her mind and shower us with some plain old consistent weather!
